What is a heat pump and what makes them so efficient?
Heat pumps do not generate heat – they move heat from one place to another.
Unlike a furnace that creates heat, a heat pump absorbs heat energy from the outside air (even in cold temperatures) and transfers indoors. Heat pumps do not consume fuels and you do not need to refill or recharge anything. They deliver efficient and effective heating even when it reaches -30° C!

Fresco Refrigeration will come to your home and record data regarding your homes size, layout and construction. We also estimate the installation requirements such as pipe lengths, electrical requirements, etc. Only after performing a heat load calculation can we recommend the most optimal equipment and a quotation will be provided at no charge.

Outdoor Unit (required for all configurations)
The outdoor unit comes in many different shapes and sizes depending on the manufacturer and heating / cooling capacity.
Mini-split (wall mounted)
The indoor unit contains a heat exchanger and a fan. The fan distributes the conditioned air throughout the different areas of the home.
Cassette (ceiling mounted)
The cassette unit is a low profile and discreet. Much of the equipment is recessed into the attic or dropped ceiling.
Central unit (ducted homes)
A central system distributes air through the ductwork in your home resulting in balanced temperatures throughout.

Zoned
Multiple indoor units are installed to serve more than one area. Zoned indoor units can be individually controlled. Temperatures in the rooms that are not occupied can be set back to maximize energy savings.
Central (ducted)
A central system can also be retrofitted to replace your oil or gas furnace and use existing ductwork
